The Ease Branch Predictor

چکیده
Wide issue processors with many pipeline stages require e cient branch prediction for high throughput. In this paper, we propose an Embedded, Architecturally Simple and E cient (EASE) branch predictor, which performs well for programs having a small number (100) and a large number (16,000) of instructions. EASE uses a combination of a G-share predictor and a one-level predictor. In EASE, one-level predictor is active until the G-share predictor warms up. For an example program of 100 instructions, the one-level, two-level, G-share, and EASE predictors give misprediction percentages of 36%, 38%, 41%, and 36%, respectively. The corresponding gures for an example program with 16,000 instructions are 9.5%, 5.6%, 3.3% and 3.3%, respectively. For the gcc benchmark, the EASE predictor outperforms hybrid and cascaded predictors by giving a misprediction percentage of 7.89%. When compared to hybrid and cascaded predictors, the EASE predictor has fewer counters and no decision circuitry, which makes it more e cient to implement in VLSI.

Online Trust and Health Information Websites
This study develops and tests a model of online trust of a health care website. The model showed a statistically strong fit to the data (N=176). Trust was significantly explained by perceptions of credibility, ease of use, and risk. Perceived ease of use was a direct predictor of trust and an indirect predictor through credibility. Credibility was both a direct predictor of trust and an indirec...

This paper discusses extensions to previous research on computer self-efficacy (CSE) and systems acceptance by examining the impact of multilevel CSE on IS acceptance. Based on the technology acceptance model (TAM), we examined the effects of general and system-specific CSE on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and behavioral intention to use a system. The results of a field experimen...
متن کاملThe Impact of Use Context on Mobile Payment User Adoption: An Empirical Study in China
The study aims to investigate the factors that affect users’ intention to adopt mobile payment services. Drawing upon the Technology Acceptance Model, the study integrates use context and subjective norm to put forward a theoretical model. 375 valid survey responses were collected. The results show that use context is the strongest predictor of intention to adopt mobile payment services. It has...
